Percheron Goals: Compete, Grow, and Have Fun
Competition fuels growth.
It pushes you to train harder, dig deeper, and achieve more than you thought possible. And nothing beats the energy of your community — your Percheron family — cheering you on, celebrating every win, and pushing you through every challenge.
Each year, athletes worldwide compete in fitness events. But here at Percheron, we do things our own way. We’re not interested in measuring ourselves against 400,000 others around the world. We care about one thing: helping you challenge yourself, break through limits, and have an absolute blast doing it.
Can we capture that worldwide competition excitement right here in our little gym? Can we make it competitive without all the stress? Can we make it the most fun event of the year? Absolutely.
Introducing: the 2025 Percheron Intramural Open.
This is how it works...
We’ll split everyone into three or four teams, each led by a Team Captain and rocking a creative team name. If last year is an indicator, we’re expecting names like “Burpee Bandits,” “Mom Jeans & Power Cleans,” or “The Chalk Monsters.”
Teams will earn points by: name originality, showing up, giving their best effort, team swagger, winning events, bringing the most hype, & gifts for the judges...
Just kidding. Bribery will not work here. (unless it's shoes, the judges LOVE shoes)
After three weeks of workouts, we’ll throw in SEF: Secret Event Four. No one knows what it will be — maybe an epic obstacle course, a scavenger hunt, a costumed dodgeball showdown, or something totally unexpected. One thing’s for sure: it will be fun.
The Draft: Where Everyone Gets Picked
On Draft Day, there are no sidelines. Every athlete, from seasoned competitors to first-time participants, gets drafted onto a team. Captains are chosen not just for their fitness but for their ability to make this event fun, inclusive, and unforgettable.
Points + Workouts.
Points are the currency of "the PF Open", earned through attendance, top performances, team spirit, and that mysterious final event. The more spirited the team on social media, the more points they earn. For 2025, we'll cue up 3 different workouts, each challenging and thrilling, but inclusive enough for anyone to participate.
The first week is "Friday Night Lights." It will be an absolute party scene. Workouts for weeks two and three will happen on Saturday morning, and makeups can be scheduled for the following Monday afternoon. SEF (Secret Event Four) will happen anytime after the final Monday makeup window closes.
Preparing for the Challenge
Our Intramural Open isn’t just about competition; it’s about progress.
In the weeks leading up to the event, our programming will shift slightly to prepare you for the demands of the Open.
Want to refine a specific skill? We do have some specialty programs and all our coaches are available for private skill sessions. If you’ve got your sights set on your first pull-up, toes-to-bar, or double-under, talk to your coach and schedule a one-on-one session!
Victories and Celebrations
Every week, we’ll do random prize drawings, and at the end of it all, the winning team earns a permanent spot on our gym’s banner — immortalized in Percheron Fitness history. Here's last year's version, shout out to the Barbell Bandits:

Sweet to get your name on the banner hanging in
the gym for people to see literally every day... 😎
But at the heart of it all? Fun. The goal isn’t just to compete — it’s to challenge yourself, build community, and walk away stronger, happier, and maybe even glowing (probably from all the sweat).
